Damon Hill would carry out much of the development work for the new parts being introduced. When the FW14 was unveiled, it was a departure for Williams. Gone was the long-term sponsorship from ICI, as well as Barclay cigarettes. In came the Camel tobacco brand (having transferred operations from the Lotus team) for the next three seasons. Mansell's car had his distinctive red number 5 back on the nose (Boutsen's car had previously displayed a white number). Newey's aerodynamic touches were to the fore, making the 1990 FW13B look suddenly out of date. Having won only four Grands Prix in the last three seasons, Williams was about to emerge from a fallow
period and enter into the most crushingly dominant years in its history.
